Sacred Geometry

~ The Platonic Solids ~

Named after the Greek philosopher Plato, the platonic solids represent the five symmetrical 3-dimensional shapes that are the building blocks that make up our physical world. These five unique shapes are each associated with one of the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water, with the fifth shape representing ether – the life force of all creation. The Platonic Solids, along with other sacred geometry, help us explore the construction of the physical universe.

Metatron's cubeOne of the more complex sacred geometry forms is Metatron's cube, an expression of the connection of consciousness from higher to lower states and vice versa - a gateway between different states of consciousness. There is a direct relationship between the platonic solids and Metatron’s Cube. Each of the five platonic solids (tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, icosahedron) are all contained within Metatron’s Cube.

The ancient Greeks knew that the platonic solids were connected to the hidden energy grids of the earth, as revealed in Plato’s works. The original forms were spherical, with each shape flattened when originally taught by Pythagoras.

All five platonic solids have the following in common: Every face on each side is the same shape, and every line on the solid is the exact same length.

The 5 Platonic Solids
CUBE

Cube

Base shape: Square
Number of faces: 6
Number of vertices: 8
Number of lines: 12
Element: Earth
Energy direction: Inward, grounding, stabilizing
Structure: Axis-aligned; represents the physical planes and cardinal directions
Symbolic of: Foundation and matter, manifestation in physical reality, balance between polarities (opposing faces), sacred container — temple, body, womb, home

In multidimensional geometry the cube is the space-holder — the construct that allows higher dimensional energies to be anchored into form. It is the structure through which the divine can become embodied.

The cube expands out into the hyperdimensional shape of the tesseract, with each square face of the cube being the face of a completely separate cube within it. This total seven cubes (the original cube and the six faces creating six more cubes). This more complex geometrical structure is a gateway to access a higher dimensional space. OCTAHEDRON

Octahedron

Base shape: Triangle
Number of faces: 8
Number of vertices: 6
Number of lines: 12
Element: Air
Energy direction: Simultaneous expansion and inward drawing — reflective symmetry
Structure: Dual pyramids joined at the base — perfectly balanced between above and below
Symbolic of: Harmony, equilibrium, sacred breath, reflection and mirrored reality, integration of opposites: light/dark, inner/outer, the bridge between heaven and earth

In multidimensional geometry the octahedron is the matrix of mirrored consciousness — it reflects the holographic principle: that the part contains the whole. It is a gateway to holographic healing, energy balancing, and telepathic or empathic communion. When spinning or rotating, it generates a diamond field that protects and uplifts your energy body.

The Octahedron is also a very important shape in crystalography. Octahedral crystals are found in many different mineral families, including diamonds, quartz, and tourmaline.

ICOSAHEDRON

Icosahedron

Base shape: Triangle
Number of faces: 20
Number of vertices: 12
Number of lines: 30
Element: Water
Energy direction: Fluid, spiraling, spherical outward
Structure: Highly dynamic, nearly spherical — promotes expansion through emotion and intuition
Symbolic of: Creativity, fluidity, adaptability, emotional intelligence and intuition, surrender to divine flow, connection to collective consciousness through water memory

In multidimensional geometry the icosahedron reflects emotional evolution through complexity — how we process feeling to reach higher states. It is the shape of energetic release, healing, and reconfiguration. It is often associated with DNA, sacred fluids, and spiritual rebirth.

The icosahedron is created from 3 golden mean rectangles (also known as the phi ratio). It is also the geometric form of many viruses, including the adeno and herpes virus.

TETRAHEDRON

Tetrahedron

Base shape: Triangle
Number of faces: 4
Number of vertices: 4
Number of lines: 6
Element: Fire
Energy direction: Upward = ascension, expansion; Downward = manifestation, grounding
Structure: The most stable 3D shape in existence — a foundational unit of creation
Symbolic of: Initiation, lchemical transformation, divine spark emerging from the void, The sacred trinity and the trine, self-realization through fire

In multidimensional geometry the tetrahedron represents the ignition point — where consciousness sparks form, where potential collapses into creation.

The triangle and tetrahedron are the strongest structural forms that exist. Buckminster Fuller, creator of the geodesic dome, applied this principle in his designs. The combination of two intersecting tetrahedrons form the shape of the star tetrahedron, also known as the Merkaba or "light body".

The tetrahedron expands out into the hyperdimensional shape of the tetragrammaton, which is tetrahedral in structure but each of the four rectangular faces is the base of another tetrahedron pointing inwards inside the structure. All overlapping within the original tetrahedron, each face is the side of an interdimensional tetrahedron and they all overlap. As with the tesseract above, this more complex geometrical structure is a gateway to access a higher dimensional space.

DODECAHEDRON

Dodecahedron

Base shape: Pentagon
Number of faces: 12
Number of vertices: 20
Number of lines: 30
Element: Ether
Energy direction: Expansive in all directions — omnidirectional consciousness
Structure: The most complex Platonic solid — resonates with the golden ratio (φ)
Symbolic of: Divine Mind and cosmic blueprint, pure spirit, sacred geometry of the heavens, gateway to the Oversoul, manifestation from thought to energy

In multidimensional geometry, the dodecahedron acts as the geometry of the soul. It is the crystalline light body — the Merkivah* vessel — that connects to the unified field. When fully activated, it is the shape of transcendence, communication with guides, galactic memory, and planetary consciousness. It is linked to the infinite fractal of reality matrices

The dodecahedron has 12 pentagonal faces and represents ether - the dynamic energy of life itself. It is the source of the four prior elements and is known as the quantum energy field in modern science.

The Dodecahedron

The dodecahedron is a very special sacred geometrical pattern. Cosmologists, along with mathematician Jeffrey Weeks, created a model to analyze the shape of the universe. In his article, "The Poincaré Dodecahedral Space and the Mystery of the Missing Fluctuations," Weeks concluded that the universe we live in is finite and shaped like a dodecahedron.

The dodecahedron was considered sacred in the Greek tradition. Plato mentions looking at the earth from above as a 12-sided ball, a dodecahedron. Over the entrance to his initiation school read the sign: "No-one ignorant of geometry may enter."

As the DNA helix spirals, it spirals as though it were spiraling around repeating dodecahedral stacks.

The dodecahedron occurs naturally in chemical structures and in the atomic structure behind all matter. The noble gas Zenon is based on a cube within a dodecahedron and is a psychotropic gas used for inducing spiritual experiences.

The form is associated with life itself, and ancient teaching reveal that the misuse of this energy can unleash catastrophic forces of destruction, which is why the teachings related to this geometric form were hidden to prevent misuse. In the prophetic sense, this statement proved very true.

The Dodecahedron & the Atomic Bomb

The Manhattan project of WWII was responsible for creating the first form of the atomic bomb. Scientists in the project discovered that to create the critical mass leading to the explosion, the bomb was required to be shaped like a dodecahedron. The double-dodecahedron was the form of the atomic bomb.

When two dodecahedra are connected in a hinge-like manner, at the moment they break apart completely radioactive uranium is created. This breaking apart creates massive instability, resulting in uranium releasing toxic radiation and making possible the fission of uranium. This discovery led to the creation of man-made elements such as plutonium which, when used in conjunction with uranium, creates the devastating nuclear weapons that vaporize matter out of existence.

The misuse of the dodecahedron shows the true power of sacred geometry and how it can be used for both the creation and destruction of our world. The atomic bomb is an example of highly destructive power through misuse of sacred geometry knowledge.

Dr. Robert Moon, a scientist in the Manhattan Project, published his insights on sacred geometry and developed his own periodic table, known as the Moon Model of the Periodic table. He believed that the entire periodic table of elements was based on the platonic solids, and that the atomic number (protons) for each element was directly linked to a sacred geometric shape. In his model, each proton is located at a nodal point of multiple platonic solids nested within eachother.

For example, element 8 (oxygen) is created from each of its 8 protons at one of the 8 corners of a cube.

The Platonic Solids & Healing

There are many different sacred geometric energy patterns within the human energy system. Our DNA itself is a projection of consciousness into a specific frequency that creates that DNA. There are bundles of neurons in the brain that create sacred geometric clusters. The synapses in the brain fire in groups that form geometric patterns.

Dr. Theo Gimbel, author of “Form, sound, color and healing” used combinations of color and platonic geometry to target and heal different functional systems of the body.

He discovered the following:

  1. A red tetrahedron is used to active the nerve sense system rooted in the head.
  2. A yellow octahedron activates and balances the respiratory system in the throat and upper chest.
  3. A blue icosahedron is used to activate and balance the metabolic system in the abdomen.
  4. A green cube is used to ground and balance at the base of the abdomen.
  5. A double-dodecahedron is used on the top and bottom halves of the body.

Through an understanding that sacred geometry forms every atom and molecule, cell and tissue, organ and system of the body, we can deconstruct and reconstruct any pattern of disease through applying thought patterns that generate the geometric blueprint of health.

* Merkivah vs. Merkaba: The term Merkivah is a variation of Merkaba. They refer to the same essential concept but their spelling and pronunciation carry slightly different lineages and vibrational emphasis:

  • Merkivah is seen more often in channeled materials, multidimensional teachings, or modern sacred geometry interpretations. It puts slight emphasis on the structure and living mechanics of the light-body vehicle — especially as a vessel of conscious navigation. Some channelers and guides use this form to differentiate the classical mystical concept (Merkaba) from the evolving multidimensional version that incorporates quantum geometry, oversoul navigation, and frequency-based phase shifting.
  • Merkaba refers to the sacred vehicle of ascension, divine movement between heaven and Earth, and visionary mystical travel. In many modern spiritual systems (like Drunvalo Melchizedek’s Flower of Life teachings), Merkaba is used to describe the light body and star tetrahedron field that surrounds and moves with the soul.
