Chiropractic

What is Chiropractic?
.
A practitioner of Chiropractic is called a chiropractor, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (DCM), or Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). Chiropractors may also combine other holistic treatments such as homeopathy, acupuncture and herbal medicine in their treatment plans.

Although Chiropractic has experienced a struggle to gain acceptance in the medical field, it is now a recognized and respected profession. Thousands of studies have been published in medical journal on the effectiveness of Chiropractic spinal manipulation for back pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other conditions. To practice in many countries, Chiropractors must undergo extensive education at accredited educational institutions. Study courses include anatomy, physiology, microbiology, nutrition, and a form of residency which includes the completion of hands-on experience treating patients.

Many Medical Doctors refer patients to Chiropractors when conventional medicine and pain management therapy has proved fruitless, and when surgery appears the only option.
